well nandu and jose really played a big role and they were the ones tht added the fun element of my life!

it all started in 6th! the good ole days when we were still in trousers!
Once, Mrs Sharam Nahi Aathi..,Indira ma'am[well watever hindi i do have is becos of her and i really respect her] caught me stammering with hindi yet again,said" sharam nahi aathi is thareh padne.." and asked me to stand out of the classroom[to my delight]. that day she called our MSC[member of student council or mother of several children, however u like it] and asked gayathri to change "Nithin's" place next to Monisha's.[ma'am always used to get the names confused and since nithin and i were the same league in hindi class, ma'am dint bother to change]
and thats how jose and i sat together for the first time.
it first started as an equivalent craze for super cars. but i did soon find out he was far far better than me.
back then Betty Ma'am used to be our PT teacher.
she was one among the funniest teachers i've ever come acroos.Ponnammal ma'am was also very close! well jose and i used to collect every bit of money we get and go to molma to buy sip ups or on rich fat days, Milkibar choo.
we used to travel in different possible directions to avoid teachers from spoting us.
oh the sip up days!
then there was the "cp travels!"
unni chettan had come back, and he had converted the Mouse MAchine into what HE beleived was an airbus!
george chettan,nikhil,gorbi,sanju[waiting for his father]and i used to play with rubber balls on the basket ball court waiting for the 3rd trip.
well i tell u, i've burned some serious amounts of calories those days!
the other main stuff happening those days were EXAMS!
not tht i cared bout exams! it was chance to ride cycle for long hours + do a little bit of expeditions.
DEAD MAN's world[next to "shmashanam"], Scorpion kingdom[the fsa court] etc. wer our favourites.

pals!

well my friends always complain bout the fact that i dont include them in my blogs!
so here is an article completely dedicated to my pals.

i think the article ought to be divided into 2 parts.school and college

SCHOOL[ article 1 ]

i'll start with school.they mean a lot to me! my pals at school!they mould me into the creature i am!

basically i like being to myself.from childhood onwards i've loved being left alone! especially in that period btwn 6 30 and 9! lyk any other student i really hate it when mom asks to study.and not only that! i cant get out of my room! and that seems to me like the toughest thing in the world!somehow i get thirsty every 20 mins that i have to take sip. and only on the hours breaks am i supposed to drink. so after twenty mins of study "its reverie zone",the next forty!regardless of an athleitc apperance i posses due to my lanky legs, i like books!
in my 4th standard while we boys where playin "kings" or "er pandhu", i happened to dislocate my wrist and get a hair line fracture. since i couldn't play to kill time , one brightand sunny day i took to library. our beloved Achama ma'am,looked at me lowering her specs and went to the shelf, took the copy of Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer and gave it to me!
i was like, MA'AM I"M IN FOURTH!
i still remember that the book had 253 pages!that was the beginning.i took leave for 3 weeks with chicken pox and when i returned,the whole class was talking about a milestone event in the class.
[ehmmm...they never even noticed i was missing for 3 weeks]
Sanjay and Gayathri completed a 150 pages NAncy Drew.
"so whats such a big fuss about? i read 253 pages book!", i remarked. and when i said the name of the book everyone laughed and said "thats a forty pages book!".
well that day no one knew what the word "abridged" meant.after Great Epectations everyone knows what it means!
well i took it as a challenge and while sanju concentrated on nancy drew i took hardy boys as my subject. then i read this magical book in my shelf ,which changed my approach to english! till then it was just another subject.after the book, the language became a love affair.
Famous Five and the whispering island, in which wilfred appears!if my memory is corect its the 20th book of the 21 book series.
after that it was Enid Blyton all the way with ocassional Franklin W Dixon.
[i've always continued with this spirit and these days i like CHRICHTON[with due respects to the great man he was],Grisham,cook and other good books.]

well back then, i used to fantasize goin out in cycles ,with tents and camping out with friends! Anne was my first love and still the name has a special effect on me.i was so into secret passages and tresures that i have pressed each tile in my bathroom with the hope that it would suddenly open and lead me to Madonna!

the next remarkable thing that happened was the influence of nandu and jose in my life!ths nxt.

NCFS

on the free software day manhandling

Well i really dont have anything more to add to the numerous blogs on the manhandling of Anivar bro and co. on the last day of NCFS[National Conference of free software].but there still remains the question of WHY Novell chose to sponsor an event which has nothing to do with their motives and THEIR IDEA of a FREE future.
we "the ignorant few" attending the meet were curious to know their intentions and visited their stall in an effort to understand more.
we met a guy, and with a stern look asked" How can u insist that Novell is helping the cause[free software]?".
the poor guy who had had enough for a day replied" we give u better softwares for a cheaper cost and hence your expenditure is cut, and u can run windows easily.for eg we have the novell version, which can replace MS office in windows. and please, we are employees of Novell. our task is to sit here and introduce our products to the pubilc, nothing else."
sometimes u feel sorry for injustice. we all realize that Novell supports microsoft. yet what do u say to this man, who earns his bucks working for the company?the idea of free software is just,yet when we consider this individual,should we fight with him, boycott novell's stall,and make him go back ,report to his boss, and then make HIM suffer.?
i think we all are forced to do certain things our heart wont agree with.
same is the case with the volunteers.they never had a say on the issue.

so where is ultimately the freedom? free software campaigners werent allowed to express their views, Novell guy had to do what he was told,and likewise for the volunteers.
